According to the Ministry of Health, out of the 1.6 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine provided by Japan to Nepal through the Covax facility, 800,000 doses will arrive in Nepal today and tomorrow.
Minister of State for Health and Population Umesh Shrestha informed that the remaining eight lakh doses of vaccine will come to Nepal next week.
Bhutan also provided 300,000 doses of estrogen vaccine to Nepal on Friday.
The Covishield vaccine, developed by the government at Oxford AstraZeneca and produced by the Serum Institute of India, was administered to 1.5 million senior citizens last April.
They were not able to take the second dose as the Serum Institute did not provide the vaccine even after providing the money.
