Sixty people have applied to become the head coach of the Nepali national cricket team.
The Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) had opened the application for the vacant post after Dave Whatmore unexpectedly resigned last September.
For that, a total of 60 people from all over the world have applied to become Nepal’s coaches, according to CAN.
CAN said in a statement on Monday morning that it had received 60 applications. CAN has also stated that it will select shortlists from among the applicants and conduct interviews soon.
’60 applications have been received for the post of head coach of the national cricket team. The selection committee formed by CAN will interview the shortlisted applicants in a few days, ‘CAN said in a statement.
Nepal was left without a coach after Whatmore, who was appointed Nepal’s coach last December, resigned from Cannes citing family reasons.
In Whatmore’s training, Nepal played the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 triangular series in Oman. Since then, the Nepali team has not trained.
