8.2 magnitude earthquake in Alaska

A magnitude 8.2 earthquake in Alaska has shaken the US.

The US Geological Survey (USGS) said the quake struck at 10:15 pm local time on Wednesday. The epicenter was reported 35 kilometers below the earth’s surface, according to international media.

Alaska’s National Tsunami Warning Center (NTWC) has issued a tsunami alert in the southern part of the state following the quake.
