Nepali football team head coach Abdullah Almutairi has agreed to a new contract with ANFA.
After discussions with All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) president Karma Tsering Sherpa and Qatar Football Association, Almutairi is ready for the agreement.
Almutairi, who took Nepal to the final of the SAFF Championship Football in the Maldives, had announced that he would not return to Nepal. Before playing the final against India, he said that this game was the last game with the Nepali team and Nepal would not return.
After that, ANFA president Karmachhiring Sherpa and general secretary Indraman Tuladhar reached the Maldives and requested to return to Nepal. Abdullah Almutairi did not return with the Nepali team and went to Qatar.
The ANFA president also reached Qatar and met him. After discussing with the Qatar Football Association, he changed his decision and said that he would come to Nepal.
Given the information that he has agreed to be the coach of Nepal for three years, he wrote on the social network Facebook, ‘We will make public the goals and plans for the next two years soon. I promise to take Nepali football to the next level but give us time. ‘
Almutairi was appointed head coach of the Nepali national team for one year last April with the support of the Qatar Football Association. In June, ANFA said it had signed a new agreement with Almutairi until September 2022. But Almutairi had repeatedly said he would leave Nepal.
