Residents of the coastal area have been urged to remain vigilant as the flow of the Marsyangdi River continues due to continuous rains.

The District Administration Office, Manang, has issued a notice urging the settlements along the river to be vigilant.

The statement said, “As the monsoon period of this year is still on, the people living in the riverine areas of the district are requested to be highly alert and vigilant by the District Disaster Management Committee.”

As Chame Gaonpalika-4, 5 and Naso Gaonpalika-1 are located on the banks of the river, special vigilance has been asked. Chief District Officer Bishnu Lamichhane said, “Naso 1 Talgaon is on the banks of Marsyangdi River. Special care should be taken here. I urge the residents of Talgaon in the coastal area to be vigilant as there is a risk of flooding due to heavy rains in the Siran area. ”

Hundreds of families have been displaced due to the floods and landslides caused by incessant rains in the district since June 14. The floods and landslides have caused great damage to public and private structures here. The district is currently deprived of the road network, electricity, and internet services.
