Bagmati State Assembly meeting postponed

The meeting of the Bagmati State Provincial Assembly has been postponed as it is seen that the budget will not be passed.

The meeting of the state assembly called for 11 a.m. on Sunday has been postponed to 3 p.m.

The meeting of the state assembly has been postponed to 3 pm after the ruling party UML’s Madhav Nepal faction was unable to pass the budget.

The Provincial Assembly Secretariat has stated that it has been shifted to 3 o’clock due to technical problems.

Chief Whip of the ruling party CPN-UML Bagmati Deepak Niraula said that the meeting of the state assembly has been postponed for necessary discussions.

“The meeting of the state assembly has been postponed as some disputes have to be resolved,” he said.

He said that a discussion program has been scheduled with Speaker Sanukumar Shrestha at 1 pm today to reach an agreement between the ruling and opposition parties to hold a discussion on the budget in the meeting of the state assembly.

Opposition parties have been obstructing the meeting of the state assembly since Saturday.
