Balen Shah maintains his advantage in the Kathmandu mayoral election

Balen Shah, an independent mayoral candidate in Kathmandu Metropolitan City, received over 34,000 votes.

Balen received 34,130 votes out of a total of 93,647 votes cast. He has been closing the distance with his competitors.

His closest challenger, Keshav Sthapit of the CPN-UML, received 18,547 votes. Balen received 15,583 more votes than UML’s Keshav.

Similarly, Sirjana Singh of the Nepali Congress received 18, 429 votes.
