Belgium vs Italy to meet in the Euro 2020 quarter-finals on Friday night Belgium vs Italy in Nepali time

The two teams will meet at Munich’s Allianz Arena, with the Belgians currently ranked number one in the world after going undefeated this season, while the Azzurri set a new national record by going 31 games without losing in the previous round.

Belgium vs Italy Preview Head to Head

In Seville last Sunday, Thorgan Hazard’s stunning first-half strike ended Portugal’s reign as European champions, as a bruised but confident Belgium squad confirmed their place in the quarter-finals of a major tournament for the fourth time.

Hazard junior broke the deadlock with his fourth goal in seven international appearances this year, but coach Roberto Martinez lost both Kevin De Bruyne and Thorgan’s brother Eden Hazard to injury during a tense second half, with goalkeeper Thibault Courtois making a series of saves to keep the game alive.

Belgium has now won each of their last 14 matches, including qualifiers and finals, equaling Germany and last-eight opponents Italy’s record. That mark must be broken in Bavaria, where both teams are aiming for their 15th consecutive victory in the competition, following a perfect qualifying run of four wins from four games.

In total, the Red Devils have scored in all 34 of their games this season, winning 23 of their last 27. Befitting the world’s top-ranked nation, such form saw them dominate Group B, with a 3-0 win over Russia, a comeback victory over an emotional Denmark, and then a regulation win over debutants Finland.

Romelu Lukaku, who has been dubbed “the best striker in the world” by Italy midfielder Matteo Pessina, was among the scorers in that group-stage stroll, and his goal against Finland was his country’s 63rd.

Lukaku leads the most experienced squad at these Euros, which includes five players with 100 caps or more, 15 of whom played at Euro 2016, and 18 in the recent World Cup.

They do, however, face a historical foe in Belgium, as the Belgians have only four wins and 14 losses in 22 games with Italy.
