July 10, Biratnagar. The Biratnagar Metropolitan City has presented a budget of Rs 3.62 billion for the coming fiscal year.
Out of the budget presented by Deputy Mayor Shilpa Karki in the 10th Municipal Council, Rs. 553.55 million has been allocated for current expenditure and Rs. 1.89 billion and Rs.
Similarly, Rs 277.3 million has been allocated for economic development, Rs 783.9 million for social development, Rs 70 million for good governance, Rs 7.7 million for environment and disaster management.
In 19 wards, Rs. 416.8 million has been allocated for ward level projects, Rs. 300 million for municipal projects, Rs. 290 million for multi-year pride projects and Rs. 400 million for continuous projects.
The metropolis estimates that it will receive Rs 1.21 billion from inter-government financial transfers, Rs 49.1 million from the state government, Rs 1.13 billion from revenue sharing, Rs 1 billion from internal revenue, Rs 80 million from public participation and Rs 101.9 million from grants and loans.
