Case against 17 people for making fake licenses of 533 people

July 7, Kathmandu. The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority has filed a case of corruption against 17 persons including the then head of the Transportation Management Office, Driver’s License, Ekantakuna and Lalitpur.

According to the authorities, there are 12 transport employees and 5 intermediaries in the case filed in the special court.

It is alleged that the authority has violated Section 11 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059 by illegally correcting the driver’s license issued in the name of the driver whose license has not been renewed and revoked.

The then office heads Sambar Bahadur Karki and Rajubhai Kusma, Mechanical Engineer Vijay Raj Giri, Assistant Level (Fifth) Kamal Syangtan, Senior Mechanics Achyut Prasad Phuyal, Computer Operator (Contract Service) Prakash Karki, Computer Operator (Contract Service) Reju Bhattarai, Computer Operator (Contract Service) Rosan Rajbhandari, Computer Operator (Contract Service) Shyamsunder Chaudhary, Computer Operator (Contract Service) Laxmi Shrestha, Computer Operator (Contract Service) Maya Sethi, Computer Operator (Contract Service) Richa Shrestha. The authority has stated.

Similarly, cases have also been filed against Haribhakta Shrestha, Uddhab Bahadur Khatri alias Baburam Sharma, Deepak Bishwakarma, Ganesh Adhikari and Naren Shakya. The authorities claim that they are intermediaries.
