Charleston SC Kate Waring Murder Update And Where Is Ethan Mack Now?

General0 Views

Only weeks before his retrial for the murder of Kate Waring, Ethan Mack files a plea to avoid a possible life sentence.

Mack entered an Alford Plea to voluntary manslaughter, which means he doesn’t admit guilt but believes a jury will convict him.

In 2009, Mack was sentenced to 25 years in prison for Waring’s drowning death at his James Island condominium.

Scarlett Wilson, the prosecutor, accepted the plea and said her main witness, Heather Kamp, who suffers from bipolar disorder and lied to police about the case, was untrustworthy.

Kate’s father, Tom Waring, spoke at the hearing, saying that his family is devastated by their daughter’s loss and that the only consolation they have is that she is at peace.

Mack was thanked by Waring’s father for accepting responsibility.

Charleston SC Kate Waring Murder Update

Heather Kamp encountered Kate Waring, a tall, gorgeous redhead, on a train going for Charleston, South Carolina. Waring became an immediate friend of Kamp.

When they arrived in Charleston, Waring introduced Kamp to her dear friend Ethan Mack. Kamp and Mack had an on-again, off-again relationship.

Soon after, Kamp deceived Mack into believing she was having a child in order to encourage him to turn on his wealthy friend Waring for financial gain.

Kamp and Mack, according to her evidence, dared Waring to climb inside a bag at Mack’s house.

Mack subdued Waring with a stun gun before slamming her over the head with a wine bottle and dragging her body into a bathtub full of water. Her body was then dumped in the woods.

Days after Kate vanished, Mack attempted to cash a bogus $4,500 check from Waring’s bank account, but there was insufficient funds in the account.

While pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter, Kamp claimed mental illness. She was sentenced to 45 years in prison.

Mack was sentenced to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter and adopting an Alford Plea.

What Has Happened to Ethan Mack?

Ethan Mack, for example, will have to serve at least 85 percent of his 25-year sentence. Kamp pleaded guilty to murdering while mentally ill last week, but he has yet to be sentenced.

A jury could not reach a unanimous verdict in Mack’s murder trial for Waring’s death last October, so the judge declared a mistrial.

Mack was found guilty of obstruction of justice and forgery charges by jurors last July, and he was sentenced to ten years in prison for obstruction and five years for forgery.

Heather Kamp, Mack’s co-defendant, pled guilty to murder earlier this month in connection with the killing of Waring, but she was mentally ill.

Kamp, 31, agreed to plead guilty to voluntary manslaughter and other charges in connection with Waring’s death in August, but the deal fell through after authorities claimed she lied.

Kamp testified about how she met Waring and how she was killed at Mack’s trial. Before missing on June 12, 2009, Waring, 28, visited a West Ashley gym, a CVS drugstore, and a Japanese cuisine.

A surveillance camera showed her visiting the George Street drugstore around 8 p.m.

According to Kamp, they then used a stun gun on her, hit her in the head with a wine bottle, and put her lifeless corpse into the bathtub to drown her.
