Copa América is the ongoing 47th edition of the Copa América, the international men’s football championship organized by South America’s football ruling body CONMEBOL.
The tournament is taking place in Brazil from 13 June to 10 July 2021.
What brought the tournament to Brazil?
The event was supposed to be hosted by Colombia and Argentina last year, but it was postponed because to the pandemic.
Colombia was dismissed last month following a wave of anti-President Ivan Duque rallies, while Argentina was ruled out due to a spike in COVID-19 cases in the country.

Upcoming Matches Today: 18 June 2021
Chile vs. Bolivia – prediction, team news, lineups
Chile will face Bolivia in Cuiaba on Saturday, looking to win their first Copa America game after a commendable 1-1 draw with Argentina in their opener.
After losing 3-1 to Venezuela in their first match, their opponents will be looking to rebound in a positive fashion.
Chile got off to a good start in the competition, drawing a 1-1 tie with Argentina, a team that was heavily favored.
Their opponents seized the lead in the 33rd minute on a perfect Lionel Messi free kick, and they would go on to miss a slew of chances that they would come to regret as Chile equalized on the hour mark.
Arturo Vidal, an experienced midfielder, took the penalty kick, and Emiliano Martinez made the perfect save, but he couldn’t stop Eduardo Vargas from rushing in and putting the rebound into an almost empty net from close range.
With a point from one of the toughest matches, La Roja is in a solid position in the group stage, and they will try to build on that with a win over a little weaker Bolivia side on Friday.
Meanwhile, their opponents will be hoping to rebound from a humiliating opening loss to Paraguay.
Despite Paraguay’s domination, Bolivia took the lead in the 10th minute through Erwin Saavedra and held on until well after the hour mark, but their opponents’ dominance eventually paid off as Alejandro Romero equalized before Angel Romero scored a brace.
The Greens were relegated to the bottom of the group after the first round of fixtures, and they will be looking to rapidly climb back up with a win against La Roja.
Given the quality of Argentina and Uruguay, as well as Paraguay’s winning start, Bolivia may find themselves vying with Chile for the final position, with four teams out of each five-team group proceeding to the quarter-finals.
As a result, Cesar Farias’ team will be keen to get a win before facing the unpleasant task of facing Argentina and Uruguay, the two favorites to advance from this group.
