Court orders remand of two St. Lawrence College teachers

July 7, Kathmandu. A court has ordered that two teachers accused of abusing students at St. Lawrence College in Chabahil be remanded in custody for trial.

District Court, Kathmandu on Tuesday ordered the college’s coordinator Janardan Adhikari and Nepali teacher Rajan Kumar Poudel to be remanded in custody for trial, Shrestha Gyanendra Itani told Online Khabar.

The students had made it public in the first week of June that the teacher had offered to have sex with the college student saying that he was not satisfied with his wife. They staged a protest after the college administration did not show any readiness to take action.

Police Circle, Gaushala then arrested the two.
