News journalists who went to the village to collect the Doti purvichauki Journalists’ Federation and various organizations were abused by the ruling, saying the organization abuse those who are demanding action.
Jhalak Pali, editor of Najar Nepali Weekly, Subash Nepali, correspondent of Nepal Television Doti, and Prem Nepali, a journalist working at Triveni FM has been demanded to take action against the people’s representative for harassing them.
Protesting against the incident, the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Far Western Province, Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Doti Branch, Press Chautari and Press Center have issued a press release demanding legal action against the perpetrators and guarantee of professional security.
Journalist Pali and others alleged that the municipality had started isolation wards, started video X-ray service, collected news about the activities carried out under the Dalit-targeted program, and paid the number of advertisements and information due to the villagers.
According to him, Ward Chairman of Ward No. 1 Anka Bahadur Khadka, Ward Chairman of Ward No. 4 Nawaraj Khadka, Prem Bahadur Khadka of Ward No. 4, and Shankar Bahadur Kathayat of Ward No. 5 have behaved indecently in the office premises.
The victim has been accused of abusing, harassing, closing the camera, and opening the mask in front of the police station chairperson and vice-chairperson of the village municipality.
When asked about the incident, village chairman Dir Gharaj Bogati said that the journalist was treated indecently and that he was ashamed of the incident.
