July 9, Kathmandu. The Joint Trade Union Struggle Committee has staged a protest in Kathmandu against the government’s increase in the price of petroleum products.
Those who addressed the rally after the demonstration at Maitighar Mandal demanded immediate reversal of the price hike.
Kedar Giri, president of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Nepal, warned that there would be strong agitation if the price hike was not reversed. He said, “It is the workers who take the parties to the government and now it is the workers who bring them to the streets,” he said.
