Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, UCPN (Maoist) Central Committee Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and proposed CPN-UML (Samajbadi) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal are engaged in discussions.

Deuba, who has made it easier for the Madhav Nepal faction to open a new party by bringing an ordinance, has started discussions on the expansion of the Council of Ministers the day after the Nepali faction submitted a tender to the Election Commission for the registration of the UML (Samajbadi) party.

Discussions are currently underway between Deuba, Dahal, and Nepal.

Deuba had brought an ordinance to perpetuate the government and paved the way for the split of the UML and Jaspa.

After the split, the leaders are engaged in discussions to complete the trio of ministers.

It is said that the cabinet can be completed today if the ministry is divided.

However, as Nepal’s proposed Samajwadi Party will take a few days to gain legitimacy, discussions are currently focused on expanding the cabinet to include the UCPN (M) and the Upendra Yadav faction of the JSP, a source said.
