Deuba prepares to form department within July 25 – Online Khabar

July 7, Kathmandu. Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has started preparations for the formation of the department by July 25.

As the newly elected working committee will be sworn in on July 26, Deuba has already made preparations to form the department.

According to the constitution, departments and committees have to be formed within six months after the general convention. As per the time taken for swearing in on January 26, the new executive committee will have six months on July 25.

A top level leader informed that Chairman Deuba has started preparations for the formation of the department. It has been six months since the day of taking oath. Preparations have been made to form the department before July 26, ‘said the leader.

According to him, Chairman Deuba will not form all the departments at once. He said that initially 7/8 departments could be formed.

According to the Congress constitution, there are 28 departments. The department has a maximum of 51 members. The chief, deputy chief, a secretary and members will be appointed by the party president.

General Secretary Gagan Thapa and Bishwaprakash Sharma had called on President Deuba on Monday to form departments as per the constitution. General Secretary Sharma informed that discussions were held with the chairperson on the formation of the department, convening of a meeting of the central committee, formation of fraternal organization and its completion.

The two general secretaries are also scheduled to meet Deuba on Tuesday. General Secretary Sharma informed that internal issues of the party will be discussed during the meeting.

During Deuba’s previous tenure, one party had protested against the increase in the department contrary to the constitution. At the end of his four-year term, Deuba formed a 47-member department.
