Sher Bahadur Deuba, Prime Minister has issued an ultimatum to Chairman of the CPN-Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ to formulate an institutional position on the MCC project.
According to sources, Prime Minister Deuba pressed the Chairman of the Maoist Center to make an institutional decision regarding the US grant.
“Fed up with the protests and sloganeering on the grant from the coalition parties’ cadres, the Prime Minister has decided to seek the party’s final opinion on the matter,” a source close to PM Deuba said, adding that “Prime Minister Deuba issued an ultimatum to Prachanda to submit an official opinion on the matter.”
According to the leader, the Prime Minister has urged the Maoist Chairman to clarify his position by 3 p.m. Saturday.
Following the Prime Minister’s ultimatum, Prachanda stated that the decision would be made following today’s party meeting.
