8 Asar, Gorkha. Community dogs have been neutered in the district to control rabies.

According to the Veterinary Hospital and Veterinary Services Expert Center, Gorkha, 78 dogs have been neutered since July last year. Of the sterilized cookers, 42 are males and 36 are females.

The sterilization program has been implemented with the aim of controlling rabies along with the number of dogs. Sharmila Kumal said.

“As the number of stray community dogs increases, so does the risk of rabies,” she said. She said that all the dogs that have been neutered have been vaccinated against rabies.

The office had conducted sterilization camp in Gandaki village municipality. According to the office, the camp was organized in coordination with the Valley Clinic in Kathmandu. A technical team from the center was also deployed in the camp.
