Euro Cup 2020 quarterfinal games are starting from today.

After the last 16 games, there was a two-day rest. There will be two quarterfinal games today. In which Switzerland and Spain and Belgium and Italy are competing.

The match between Switzerland, who reached the quarterfinals of the Euro Cup for the first time, and Spain, the three-time winners, will be played at 9:45 pm. The game will take place in St. Petersburg, Russia.

In the pre-quarterfinals, Switzerland defeated former runners-up France 5-4 in a penalty shootout. Spain also beat Croatia 5-3 in extra time.

Switzerland has reached the quarterfinals of the big competition after 67 years. Switzerland last played in the quarterfinals of the 1954 World Cup.

Spain was eliminated from the quarterfinals of the 2016 Euro Cup. Spain, champions of the second edition in 1964, set the record for the first team to do so by winning consecutive Euro Cups in 2008 and 2012.

In the next match, Belgium will compete with Italy. The game will take place at 12:45 pm in Munich, Germany.

Both the teams have reached the quarterfinals with 100 percent victory so far. Both teams won all 10 games in the selection. So this game is expected to be exciting. The losing team will be eliminated from the Eurocup.

Italy is unbeaten in 31 consecutive games. Italy had a clean sheet in 11 consecutive games before scoring in the last game against Austria. Italy, who have won three games without conceding a goal in the group stage, had beaten Austria 2-1 in extra time in the last 16. Italy, winners in 1968, were runners-up in 2000 and 2012. At the Euros in France five years ago, Italy was knocked out of the quarterfinals.

World number one Belgium, meanwhile, beat defending champions Portugal 1-0 to advance to the quarterfinals. The current Belgian team is seen as the Golden Generation. But nothing has been won. One of the title contenders, Belgium, were runners-up in the Euro Cup in 1980. Belgium, who have only played three editions of the Euros since then, were last knocked out of the quarterfinals.

The remaining two quarterfinal matches will be played on Friday.

In which Czech Republic and Denmark and Ukraine and England will face each other.
