July 9, Pokhara. Kidney transplantation has been successful for the first time in the Western Regional Hospital under Pokhara Health Science Academy. A team of doctors from Kathmandu and Pokhara has successfully performed a kidney transplant on a 50-year-old woman.

The 50-year-old woman from Kaski was suffering from five kidney ailments and was undergoing dialysis at the Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences, said director Bharat Khatri.
