Kathmandu. Five Nepali women filmmakers are set to leave for the UK to take part in the Sheffield Duckfest in collaboration with the world-renowned Oscar Awards and the European Academy.
The Film Development Board said in a statement on Tuesday that they would be leaving for the UK this month. Filmmakers Ashruti Tripathi, Pinky Shrees Rana, Prasanna KC, Prasunadevi Dangol and Smriti Basnet are about to leave for London.
Sheffield Duckfest is the UK’s leading documentary film festival. Considered to be one of the most influential films in the world, this film is considered as a bag of art promotion and publicity, paving the way for a wide variety of documentaries.
It is mentioned that the delegation is going there in collaboration with the Palme Film Festival and Music Festival in Pokhara through the Gender Film Program of the British Council led by Taskovsky Films of the United Kingdom.
“We are happy to support Nepali women filmmakers,” said Irena Taskovsky, CEO and founder of Taskovsky Films.
