Flood in Kathmandu: The riverbank settlements in Kathmandu have been badly affected by the floods. 

Balkhu’s vegetable market is completely inundated. Vehicles have also been flooded.

Rivers including Bagmati, Bishnumati, Ichchhumati, Dhobikhola, Balkhukhola, Manohara Khola, and Samakhushikhola have been flooded. The floods have inundated coastal settlements.

The locals have become restless after the house was flooded. They seem to be busy throwing water accumulated inside the house. The road has been flooded along the riverbank of Shankhamul. The squatter settlements along the river are especially affected.

According to Kathmandu Police Chief SSP Ashok Singh, 382 houses have been inundated in Kathmandu and 138 people have been rescued.
Riverine settlements in Kathmandu are hit by floods every year. Experts say that the river area has been inundated due to encroachment.

Gongabu, Maitidevi, and Ratopul areas are also inundated. Roads along the river have been blocked since the water level rose. Elsewhere, traffic was disrupted by floodwaters. No casualties were reported from the floods and inundation, police said.

According to meteorologist Min Kumar Aryal, heavy rainfall has been measured in Kathmandu. According to the Weather Forecast Division, 105 mm of rain has been measured in the Tribhuvan Airport area from 3 am to 6 am.

It had started raining in Kathmandu from 2 pm on Sunday. It is still raining. Rainfall is forecast to continue for some time to come.

Currently, the country is under the influence of the low-pressure area located in the Bay of North West Bengal. Due to this effect, moderate rain with thunderstorms is expected in Lumbini, Bagmati, Gandaki, and many other places in Province No. 2, according to the Meteorological Department of the Department of Water and Meteorology.
