Four people have died in the Baglung district after drinking poisonous liquor.

The deceased have been identified as Dipendra Pun, 21, Dudh Bahadur Rana, 39, Rekh Bahadur Rana, 51, and Pravin Gharti, 30, of Malkot.

Khemraj Gharti, 38, and Rabindra Pun, 26, are undergoing treatment at Dhaulagiri Hospital. 

They had fallen seriously ill after consuming ‘local’ liquor at a local liquor store on Monday.

Further investigation is underway into the incident. 

Police have arrested the liquor store operator.
