India’s COVID-19 tally now stands at 27,894,800

According to the federal health ministry, India’s COVID-19 tally reached 27,894,800 on Sunday, with 165,553 new cases registered in the previous 24 hours.

In the last three weeks, there has been a sharp decrease in daily pandemic cases, with new cases per day falling from over 400,000 on May 9.

Furthermore, 3,460 deaths have occurred since Saturday morning, bringing the total death toll to 325,972.

There are still 2,114,508 active cases in the country, despite a 114,216 case drop in the last 24 hours. The number of daily active cases has been decreasing in recent days, following a constant increase since mid-April.

According to the most recent federal health ministry data, a total of 25,454,320 persons have been cured and discharged from hospitals across the country.

Over 212 million vaccine doses (212,066,614) have been given to people across the country thus far.

On Saturday alone, 3,035,749 vaccination doses were administered.

The third round of COVID-19 vaccination is under underway, with all people aged 18 and up being vaccinated. Vaccines, on the other hand, are in short supply across the country.

Meanwhile, the federal government has increased the number of COVID-19 testing sites across the country.
