India’s first win in T20 World Cup

India has won their first match of the ICC T20 World Cup. 

India defeated Afghanistan by 66 runs in the Super 12 match of the T20 World Cup in the UAE on Wednesday.

After the victory, India has risen to the fourth position by adding two points from three games. India, who had earlier lost to Pakistan and New Zealand, opened the scoring after their first win. After the first victory, India has kept alive the possibility of reaching the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup.

Afghanistan, which suffered its second defeat in four games, is in third place with four points. Afghanistan now has to play New Zealand.

Chasing India’s high target of 211, Afghanistan lost seven wickets in 20 overs and scored 144 runs.

Karim Jannat remained unbeaten on 42 runs for Afghanistan. He hit 3 fours and 2 sixes in 22 balls. Similarly, captain Mohammad Navi added 35 runs.

India’s Mohammad Shami took three wickets, Ravichandran Ashwin two and Jaspreet Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja one each.

Earlier, losing the toss and batting first, India lost two wickets and scored 210 runs with the help of half-centuries from Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul. Rohit and Rahul shared 140 runs for the first wicket.

Rohit played 47 balls and scored 74 runs with the help of 8 fours and 3 sixes. Similarly, Rahul played 69 balls and scored 69 runs with the help of 6 fours and 2 sixes. Similarly, Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant also shared an unbeaten 63 runs while batting aggressively. Hardik scored unbeaten 35 and Pant scored unbeaten 27 runs. Both played the same 13 balls. Hardik hit four fours and two sixes. Pant hit four and three sixes.

Karim Jannat and Gulbadin Naib of Afghanistan took one wicket each.
