India's victory in the first T20


India has won the first T20 cricket match against Sri Lanka.

India defeated Sri Lanka by 38 runs in the match played in Colombo. Chasing India’s target of 165, Sri Lanka were bowled out for 126 in 18 overs with three balls to spare.

Sri Lanka’s Charith Asalanka scored 44 runs, Abhishek Fernando 26 runs, and Dasun Shanka 16 runs but the performance of others was not memorable.

India’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 4 wickets while Deepak Chahar took 2 wickets.

Earlier, batting first, India lost 5 wickets in 20 overs and scored 164 runs. India’s Surya Kumar Yadav played a 50-run half-century innings. Captain Shikhar Dhawan added 46 runs while Sanju Samson scored 27 runs and Ishan Kishan scored 20 runs unbeaten.

With the win, India has taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
