July 7, Kathmandu. CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has said that it is not unreasonable to say that his land should be returned.

In a meeting with a group of former ambassadors today, Oli, who is also a former prime minister, said that Kalapani, Lipulek and Limpiyadhura were Nepal’s territories for 146 years after the Sugauli Treaty.

He said earlier that the Indian army had come and settled in Kalapani. This is the reality. Even if Nepalis can’t say it now, they will say it later.

Earlier, he said, “It is not a matter of urging us to return our territory, nor is it a matter of severing ties.”

Stating that he had openly discussed the issue during his meetings with the Indian Prime Minister, Oli said that the issue could have been resolved without political interference.
