Chief District Officer Prem Prasad Devkota informed that the District Administration Office Jajarkot has decided to release Ward Chairman Nepali on Rs 5,000 bail.

Chief District Officer Devkota said that Rs. 5,000 was released on bail based on the victim’s statement. 

‘Behavior issues were raised on the basis of the video. But the victim himself gave a statement that it was not the fault of the ward chairman.

He has been released on bail as no wrong intention was found, ‘he said.

According to him, the ward chairman Nepali has been released on bail on the condition of coming to the bank on September 1.

Police had arrested Ward Chairman Nepali on July 30 for beating a local serpe Damai with a rope.

The video of Ward Chairman Nepali tying Sarpe Damai with a rope and beating him went viral on social media. 

According to the District Police Office, Jajarkot, a case of indecent behavior has been registered on the basis of the video.

There was a widespread protest against the ward chairman for beating the service recipient in an insulting manner.
