Nepali shooter Kalpana Pariyar has improved her national record at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

She set a national record by scoring 616.8 in the qualifying round of the women’s 10m air rifle event on Saturday.

But out of a total of 50 players, she was ranked 46th and dropped out of the first round.

Kalpana had earlier set a record by scoring 614.5 in the 13th South Asian Games. 

She was fourth on the 13th.

Kalpana improved her record by scoring 616.8 in Asa’s shooting range on Saturday morning under Tokyo 2020 but could not reach the next stage.

Only the top eight players from the selection have entered the final.

Kalpana scored 102.2 in the first series, 105.4 in the second and 101.1 in the third, 104.1 in the fourth and 103.4 in the fifth.

 In the last series, she performed poorly and scored 100.7. She scored 616.8 overall.

Kalpana was selected for the Tokyo Olympics through a wild card.

Today, Nepali judo player Sonia Bhatt is competing in women’s 48 kg.
