Kathmandu valley food problems

Food insecurity in Kathmandu can be addressed by dialing 1180

Those having difficulty managing their meals during the prohibitory order can call the hotline number 1180 for help, according to the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Office.

Prohibitive orders have been issued in the majority of districts across the country as a result of the second wave of the coronavirus.

The KMC has stated that anyone experiencing food shortages can call the above-mentioned hotline number. During the first lockdown, food was delivered to the poor by several social organizations and the KMC in collaboration with ward offices.

According to Ishwor Man Dangol, spokesperson for the Kathmandu Metropolitan City Office, the KMC has been assisting those who are experiencing difficulties in conjunction with the ward offices.

He has advised anyone who are having difficulty to call the hotline at 1180 and provide their address.

Following receipt of the information, the KMC will work with the local ward office to offer food to those in need.
