Nepal’s Kathmandu valley has reported 1,456 new coronavirus cases on June 2

In the last 24 hours, 1,456 people in the Kathmandu Valley have been infected with COVID-19.

As of Wednesday afternoon, 969 people in Kathmandu, 306 in Lalitpur, and 181 in Bhaktapur had tested positive for the pandemic virus, according to the Ministry.

Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, Nepal has seen a total of 5,316 new cases of coronavirus infection. The overall number of infection cases from the COVID-19 has now reached 571,111.

4,524 people have tested positive for COVID-19 using the RT-PCR method, while 792 have tested positive using the Antigen approach, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. In the previous 24 hours, there had been a total of 16,878 tests conducted across the country.

Meanwhile, 7,219 people have returned home after recovering fully from COVID-19. With this, the total number of people who have recovered from the epidemic has now reached 461,563. On Wednesday, the recovery rate increased to 80.8 percent.

According to the Ministry, 101 persons have died from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of persons who have died from COVID-19 to 7,555.
