Kathmandu Valley: The temperature in Kathmandu has dropped to its lowest point this year.

According to the Water and Weather Forecast Division, the minimum temperature in Kathmandu today is less than 3 degrees Celsius this year. Wednesday’s temperature was 4.3 degrees. The Department of Water and Meteorology has appealed for caution as the temperature may drop further and the temperature may rise.

According to the department, the average daily temperature in the country, including Kathmandu Valley, has started decreasing by one to two degrees Celsius. Today the lowest temperature is measured in Jumla. The temperature in Jumla has dropped to minus 5.7 degrees.

The minimum temperature in the Terai region has also dropped. The weather will be partly cloudy in the hilly areas today and clear in the afternoon in the Terai district, according to the Meteorological Department.

Even though it is sunny in most parts of the country including Kathmandu today, there is a possibility of light rain and snowfall in the high hilly, and mountainous regions of Far West, Karnali, Lumbini, and Gandaki due to the western low-pressure system that will come with the westerly winds from tomorrow.
