The Kodari Highway, which was cut off by floods and landslides on June 15, has come into partial operation after being repaired.
According to Engineer Bijay Mahato of the Charikot Road Division Office, the road has been constructed for months, and now it will be fully operational within a few weeks.
He said that the Tatopani checkpoint needs to be opened soon for the import of goods purchased from China by the traders as the great festival of Nepal is approaching.
Exports from the short-distance Tatopani port with China are currently halted.
Imports have not been smooth. The businessmen had been complaining that there was no proper initiative in the operation of the highway despite repeated calls to the concerned bodies.
