KP Sharma Oli has been appointed the Prime Minister of Nepal, Yet again on May 13, 2021
On Friday at the Shital Niwas ceremony, President Bidhya Devi Bhandari shall administer Oli’s oath of office and secrecy.
Oli has been designated Prime Minister in accordance with Article 76(3) of the Constitution of Nepal, the head of the Custodian government since he lost confidence in the House of Representatives.
In the next 30 days, he will have to vote of confidence in the House, failing which he would attempt to form a government in accordance with Article 76(5).
If the above two steps fail, the House will face a further dissolution and the country will move towards early elections.
The Nepalese Congress and NPC-Maoist Center opposition alliance did not get the majority to make government demands, opening the door for KP Sharma Oli to take over the national affairs again.
On Monday, President Bidya Devi Bhandari gave parliamentary parties 3 days to form a majority government in accordance with Article 76(2) and to present their claim to her office.
