Leicester City has won the Community Shield after beating Premier League champions Manchester City.
Leicester beat Manchester City 1-0 in the final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday thanks to a single from Kelechi Iheanacho on a penalty.
Ihanacho scored the decisive goal from the penalty spot in the 89th minute of the match. Leicester was awarded a penalty with the help of VARB after City’s Nathan AK fouled Ihanacho in the penalty area.
Jack Grillis, who arrived in City from Aston Villa for a record amount of money, also made his debut for City through this game.
Grillis entered the field in place of Samuel in the 65th minute of the game.
Leicester has won the Community Shield for the second time. Lester, who previously won the title in 1971, won the Community Shield 50 years later.
The city has won the title six times.
