Letang incident: A five-member investigation team has been constituted to look into the death of a policewoman in Letang, Morang.

The Provincial Police Office in Biratnagar has constituted a committee to investigate the incident, which will be led by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajendra Prasad Chaudhary.

The committee has been charged with looking into all aspects of the tragedy and identifying the perpetrators.

SSP Chaudhary is the Chief of Province 1’s Crime Control and Investigation Division.

Urmila Shrestha, a police constable, was slain in a conflict between the police and people protecting a man suspected of sexually abusing a female student in Letang on Sunday.

In the event, twenty-five police officers and seven civilians were hurt.
