Manakamana Temple to remain closed from January 21

The Manakamana Area Development Committee has decided to prohibit visitors from entering Manakamana Temple.

As the corona infection spreads rapidly, a meeting of stakeholders on Tuesday decided to extend the period from Friday to mid-January.

Ram Kumar Joshi, Chairman of the Manakamana Area Development Committee, informed that it has been decided to prohibit all rituals other than regular worship during this period.

Religious activities such as sacrificial offerings and candle burning in the temple are also prohibited.

According to Insan Bahadur Thapa, the temple’s main priest, over 5,000 devotees visit Manakamana Temple on a daily basis.
