Fatema Sumar, vice president of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), is coming to Nepal next week to understand the latest status of the MCC project in Nepal.

She is coming to Nepal to understand the status of the annual implementation of the MCC project in the countries where it has been implemented.
During her visit to Nepal, she will hold talks with various parties on the status of MCC project implementation, sources said. She will oversee projects specifically targeted at poverty alleviation at the MCC headquarters.
She is also scheduled to meet Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and the top leaders of various political parties. Due to political tensions, the MCC project, which should be implemented in 2019, has not been able to move forward yet.
