National anthem singer Ajay Thapa passes away

Ajay Thapa, one of the singers of the Nepali national anthem ‘Saayun Thunga Phoolka Hami’ has passed away. He died on Friday. 

Thapa, a resident of Badakhal in Mechinagar Municipality-3, was found infected with corona last Sunday. He was then admitted to B&C Hospital in Birtamod for treatment.

He died at 6 am on Friday while undergoing treatment on a ventilator, said Pramish Giri, public relations officer at B&C Hospital. His wife Radha Thapa is also undergoing treatment at the same hospital due to corona infection.

After the success of the people’s movement of 2062 BS and 2063 BS, the national anthem composed by Byakul Myla and composed by Amber Gurung has been implemented in Nepal since 29 July 2007 AD.
