Today, Nepal’s national men’s football team will travel to Iraq for a friendly match
The match is set to take place on May 29. The team will board a Qatar Airways flight.
The Nepali team will then go to Kuwait to compete in a FIFA World Cup qualifying match, according to the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA).
Abdullah Almutairi, the coach of Nepal’s national team, just revealed a 23-man squad for friendly and qualifying matches, as well as the Asian Cup qualification match.
Nepal is slated to compete in the World Cup qualification match against Chinese Taipei, Jordan, and Australia. Nepal has one wins and four losses in World Cup qualifying matches.
Goalkeeper Kiran Chemjong will lead the team to Iraq, along with players Bishal Sunar, Deep Karki, Rohit Chand, Ananta Tamang, Dinesh Rajbamshi, Gautam Shrestha, Suman Aryal, Bikash Khawas, Bishal Rai, and Manish Dangi.
Arik Bista, Kamal Thapa, Santosh Tamang, Suman Lama, Sunil Bal, Suraj Jyu Thakuri, Pujan Uparkoti, and Ayush Ghalan are among the team members. Ashish Lama, Anjan Bista Nawayug Shrestha, and Avishek Rijal included.
The team is set to return to the Nepal on June 12.
