The South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) has formally proposed to Nepal to host the 13th edition of the SAFF Championship.
The federation has written a letter to Nepal proposing a clean project in October.
The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has stated that a formal proposal for organizing the tournament has come from Saaf on Sunday.
SAF general secretary Anwarul Haque has written a letter to ANFA general secretary Indraman Tuladhar and formally proposed the SAF project, according to ANFA.
Secretary-General Tuladhar said that Nepal would prepare a detailed proposal for the SAAF project and send it to SAAF for approval.
Nepal had submitted its claim for the project after Bangladesh, which was given the responsibility of organizing the competition, informed that it could not do so due to COVID-19.
Along with Nepal, Sri Lanka, India, and the Maldives have also claimed for the project. Nepal had earlier hosted the SAAF Championship in 1997 and 2013.
