The Nepalese Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) reported 8,387 new cases of coronavirus infection on Tuesday.
The COVID count has now reached 528,848. Furthermore, 249 people tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 in the antigen test.
Similarly, the Health Ministry has recorded 169 COVID-19 deaths in the last 24 hours. On May 19, the ministry recorded 246 deaths, the highest daily total. The national death toll from COVID-19 had reached 6,700 as of Tuesday. In Nepal, there are currently 117,261 active cases.
Meanwhile, 2,613 cases have been reported in the Kathmandu valley’s three districts in the last 24 hours. According to the MoHP data, Kathmandu had 1,863 cases, Lalitpur had 427 cases, and Bhaktapur had 323 cases.
Similarly, COVID-19 killed 57 people in the valley in 24 hours, with 34 dying in Kathmandu, eight in Lalitpur, and 15 in Bhaktapur.
In the last 24 hours, 6,404 COVID-19 patients have recovered. According to data released by the MoHP on Tuesday, a total of 404,887 people had recovered from the viral disease. Currently, the recovery rate is 76.6 percent.
