The Nepali Congress (NC) is holding a meeting of its central working committee (CWC) today.
The CWC meeting will be held at the NC central party office in Sanepa at 1 p.m., according to Krishna Prasad Paudel, chief secretary of the NC central party office. The meeting is attended by CWC office bearers, central members, and invited central members.
The Nepali Congress meeting will approve the General Convention schedule, which is set for November 10 to 12, as well as hold discussions on other current issues.
The office-bearers’ meeting on Saturday at the Prime Minister’s residence in Budhanilkantha set agenda items for the central working committee (CWC) meeting on Sunday and focused on the party’s 14th General Convention preparations.
Due to a large number of aspirants for leadership in the Nepali Congress General Convention, there have been sharp divisions between the Poudel and Deuba factions. Senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel called a meeting of his factions on Friday, and President Deuba called one on Thursday.
Despite efforts to field a common presidential candidate, it has yet to be successful due to the large number of candidates vying for the position.
The Province Convention is scheduled for December 2-3, and the General Convention is scheduled for December 10-12.
