Former champions Australia and New Zealand will not play in the Rugby League World Cup. 

Australia and New Zealand withdrew from the World Cup on Thursday.

Australia and New Zealand have decided not to play in the World Cup, citing the Coronavirus epidemic. 

Earlier, both nations had requested to postpone the World Cup till 2022.

The Rugby World Cup will be held in England from October 23 to November 27. 

With the withdrawal of the two nations, 14 teams will now compete in the World Cup.
