NTA Nepal directs to shut down all cryptocurrency platforms

The Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) has ordered all cryptocurrency trading websites and platforms to be shut down.

Websites and mobile applications that facilitate bitcoin trading, hyperfund, and online gambling (betting), among other things, will be shut down in the country as a result of this.

An NTA circular issued Tuesday instructed competent authorities to impose a ban or blacklist on illicit online activities such as cryptocurrency, bitcoin, hyper networking, and online gambling that are carried out through apps and web platforms.

Similarly, the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has advised law enforcement agencies to be watchful as the country’s networking marketing and cryptocurrency trading industries grow.
