One killed in wild elephant attack

A farmer has been killed in a wild elephant attack in Bara.

 The deceased has been identified as Ramdev Patel, 45, of Kalapur Sub-Metropolis-2, Audhapur.

Patel, who was working in the field, was attacked by a wild elephant at around 8:45 in the morning and seriously injured. 

Gautam died on the way to Kalaiya Hospital in critical condition, said Gautam Mishra, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Bara.

Elephants have attacked people from Kalaiya, the district headquarters, about 15-16 km away from the forest area.

 According to police, the elephant may have come from Parsa National Park. Deputy Superintendent of Police Mishra informed that a technical team has been called from the park to control the elephants that have entered the Pasaha River.
