Parliament’s session has been adjourned

The current Legislative-Parliament session has been adjourned.

According to the Parliament Secretariat, on the recommendation of the government, President Bidya Devi Bhandari prorogued the sessions of both the House of Representatives and the National Assembly beginning Friday at midnight.

On Thursday, the Council of Ministers decided to recommend that the sessions be terminated.

The ninth session of the parliament, which began on September 8, was hampered by opposition from the main opposition CPN-UML.

The House of Representatives was adjourned earlier today until November 15.
