Petroleum businessmen have also expressed support to the movement of tanker drivers who have stopped transporting fuel in Bagmati Pradesh since Sunday demanding vaccination against Covid-19.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Nepal Petroleum Dealers National Association, an umbrella organization of petrol pump operators, warned the government to make the vaccine available soon.

The association has stated that despite repeated requests for vaccination to the employees engaged in the sale and transportation of petroleum, no hearing has been held.

“The association expresses its moral support for the symbolic movement of tanker drivers to save the lives of employees and workers in the area,” said a statement issued by General Secretary Bishwa Prasad Aryal.

The association has urged the Nepal Oil Corporation, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply to make the vaccine easily available and warned that otherwise there will be inconvenience in the distribution system.

“The association requests for early vaccination to prevent inconvenience in the regular distribution system,” the statement said.
