The prime minister was not hurt in the accident and was not involved in it. Mr. Morrison said in a statement that he was happy that all of the officers involved in the incident were safely transported to a hospital for treatment. “Over the years, we’ve all gotten to know each other,” Mr. Morrison said. They are selfless, professional, and incredibly generous individuals. I’m hoping to hear more excellent news concerning their health.”

The opposition leader, Anthony Albanese, wished the cops involved a swift recovery and praised them for their “outstanding effort.” The two-vehicle crash on the Bass Highway near Elizabeth Town is being investigated by Tasmania Police, who have asked for any witnesses to come forward. An unmarked police car and a Mitsubishi Triton were both going west between Latrobe and Deloraine when they collided.

“The circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated, however preliminary reports indicate that the Triton hit with the rear of the police car while attempting to merge. After their vehicle went down an embankment, four police officers (a man and a woman from the AFP and two men from Tasmania Police) received non-life-threatening injuries.
